¹ Carbon removal is funded through innovative projects like Project Vesta and CarbonCure, which use natural mineralization and concrete-based capture technologies. Based on an average cost of $75–$100 per metric ton, approximately 2,270 metric tons (5 million pounds) of CO₂ have been permanently removed. According to EPA estimates, an average vehicle emits roughly 0.88 pounds of CO₂ per mile. Removing 5 million pounds of CO₂ is equivalent to avoiding about 5.7 million miles of driving.

² Urban drivers spend an average of 15–20 minutes searching for parking (INRIX, USA Today; City and County of Honolulu Parking Plan). The 400,000 drivers who booked parking at least one hour ahead in busy urban areas received instant navigation directly to their spots—skipping this search entirely. Total time saved: 400,000 drivers × 15 min = 100,000 hours.

³ CO₂ calculations use EPA standards: approximately 0.89 pounds emitted per mile by an average passenger vehicle and 19.6 pounds per gallon of gasoline consumed. With typical urban parking searches covering about 3 miles (12 mph average for 15 minutes), eliminating searches for 400,000 drivers prevented approximately 1.07 million pounds of CO₂ emissions.

A comprehensive study by the Victoria Transport Policy Institute (2022), a leading transportation research organization, confirms that demand-based pricing increases overall visitation potential for destinations by reducing reliance on parking-lot capacity, since transit and carpooling accommodate more people without requiring additional parking infrastructure. Additionally, influential research by UCLA Professor Donald Shoup in The High Cost of Free Parking (2005), supported by real-world pilot programs such as San Francisco’s SFpark, demonstrates that dynamically adjusting parking rates to maintain optimal occupancy (~85%) significantly reduces congestion by cutting miles driven while searching for parking by approximately 30%.
