PARKLINQ Climate™

Committed to Hawaii's clean energy future

At PARKLINQ, we're not just focused on providing hassle-free parking solutions. We're also committed to preserving Hawaii's beautiful natural environment by prioritizing sustainability and responsible environmental practices. That's why we've launched PARKLINQ Climate™: a program that contributes 1% of every parking transaction towards the purchase of renewable energy and removing CO2 from the atmosphere. By doing our part to combat climate change, we're working towards a cleaner, more sustainable future for Hawaii and the world.

The high cost of
parking in paradise

Honolulu's parking rates are among the highest in the world, with an average cost of roughly $50 per day. In highly-trafficked areas such as Waikiki, Downtown, and Ko Olina, drivers spend an average of 20 minutes searching for free or affordable parking, resulting in wasted time and fuel and contributing to congestion on the city's roads.

Reserving your parking in advance with PARKLINQ saves an average of 20 minutes, reduces traffic congestion, and helps to avoid CO2 emissions. Since 2021, PARKLINQ has reduced carbon emissions equivalent to removing 476 cars from Hawaii's roads.

Urban traffic contributes to 8% of Hawaii's total emissions, with 30% of that caused by drivers circling for parking in areas like Waikiki, Downtown, and Ko Olina. With PARKLINQ's smart parking and pricing reform, we aim to reduce total emissions by more than 2% - a significant figure that is not easily achieved with any other single solution.

1Calculated based on the emissions of a typical passenger vehicle (4.6 tons CO₂/year) and the current weighted average price of carbon removal in the PARKLINQ Climate™ fund ($152/ton).
